Your Guide to Vermont Activities in the Fall

Welcome to our neck of the woods in Vermont! While you are staying with us at our Green Mountain bed and breakfast this fall, you can enjoy many fun (and relaxing) local activities. Don’t miss out on one of the most beautiful, cozy, and joyful times of the year. Check out our top recommendations.

Leaf Peeping

Drive around and enjoy the brilliant leaves that blanket the forests and hills in the fall. Take in stunning views of red, gold, and yellow leaves. Breathe in the crisp fall air and enjoy the change in the season. Enjoy scenic foliage drives both bucolic and glorious along Rt 100 (on the way to Long Trail Brewery), and along 22A heading North to the quaint town of Vergennes. Ask your innkeepers for more of their favorite spots to view the best foliage and scenic views.

Hiking

There’s no better way to take in the best fall scenic views while getting a bit of exercise and fresh air than with a hike! There are many beautiful trails around our neck of the woods. We recommend Pine Hill Park for an easy hike, Deer Leap Trail for a moderate hike, and Pico Peak Trail for a difficult trail. View more of the best trails in the Vermont Green Mountains.

Plymouth Cheese Company

Visit Plymouth Cheese Company and experience authentic Vermont cheese up close. Enjoy free cheese samples and take a self-guided tour around the factory. Learn more.

Long Trail Brewery

This local microbrewery is a fun place to enjoy lunch on your Vermont vacation. It’s located off of Rt 4 and 100A. After a morning hike or drive, take a few minutes to relax with some fabulous food and a cold beer or two.

Winslow Farms

Picking out the perfect pumpkin is the quintessential fall activity that everyone should experience! If you’re up for a nice thirty minute drive, we recommend checking out this wonderful local farm. During the fall season, it’s the perfect place to peruse for the perfect fall pumpkin!

Apple Picking

Don’t let your Vermont fall getaway end without apple picking. Vermont apples are incredibly fresh and delicious in the fall! Apple Hill Orchard in West Rutland and Mendon Mountain Orchards in Mendon are a couple of our favorite places to pick your own.

Hot Cider by the Fire

At the end of a long day of fun and adventure, come back to our warm and cozy inn and spend some time luxuriating in our beautifully decorated living room. A fire will be roaring and you can enjoy some hot cider before bed. There’s no better way to end a fall day in Vermont.
